A Little Bitcoin Backstory…
The origins of the “Burritos or Bitcoin” game come from a true-life story almost as juicy as that spicy barbacoa we were talking about earlier. So, almost a decade ago, Ex-Ripple Chief Technology Officer, Stephan Thomas, lost a very important password. This particular password holds the key to a digital vault in which, Thomas was given 7,002 Bitcoins in exchange for a informative cryptocurrency video.

At the time, these coins were only worth about $6 each. Fast forward to more than a few years later and here we are, with each Bitcoin being valued around $60,000 currently. Leaving, this guy, Stephan Thomas looking for a way to recover his fortune. This, my friends, is where Chipotle comes in…or does it?
Ok, well maybe the “Burritos or Bitcoin” game isn’t really a secret operation to unlock Stephan’s sealed Bitcoin vault but the very inspiration in itself is pretty freakin’ cool. A little organized madness in the name of financial freedom and free burritos?! DARE WE SAY, YES?!
LOL it sounds silly at first listen but this is as serious as National Burrito Day, my friends! The “Burritos or Bitcoin” Game will take place on April 1, 2021, but don’t worry it’s not an April Fool’s joke.
Chief Marketing Officer Chris Brandt offered insight;
“National Burrito Day is a huge moment for Chipotle as our fans traditionally flock to our restaurants and digital platforms to order their favorites,”
